That's some teamwork and using his brain. I'm impressed at what Senku did this episode against that water monster.

His experience is a key here and he made use of the Underwater City. I love the usual confidence too. What an episode, seems like Senku was built for this fight. He played this episode like a gamer.

I'm glad this episode doesn't have "brightness limitation control" so that I can experience the seizure-induced lightshow without any compromise!

I'm actually surprised (and highly appreciate) that the giant fish is handdrawn, not 3DCG model.

Also, the shark guy Araba is much more helpful than the rabbit girl Emul. I'm gonna ship Sunraku with Araba instead.

I'm guessing the season will end with no resolution to either the game tournament nor the SLF quest thing. Cool, cool.

@felixsifuri it would appear so, but it seems that another season is 100 percent guaranteed so ill not complain much.

It's a fight with the King of the Depths alright and what do you do in games with an enemy so powerful you can't attack? Easy, you make it hit itself, which is easier said than done of course. Sunraku's had a lot of practice throughout different shitty to polish his accuracy so making this sakuga filled bounce attack work was just another stepping.

Outside of that, what was really hilarious from this episode was the barrage wrath attack that came from his hatred towards an RPG fetch quest NPC. Yeah, like that could happen... Getting all across the map just to trigger a line of dialogue without the use of fast travel (DMW3). Delivering an item only to be fooled twice by the same asshole (DMW3 again). Getting lost since the description for a location of a certain needed item or NPC is too vague (DMW3 yet again) (why is it that after all of that I still love that game? what is wrong with me?).

So anyways, I guess Sunraku is coming to the big fight with lack of asleep. It'd be funny if Silvia had the same issue and it was like a fight of mentally unstable people to close off the season.

Loved the music and the visuals in this episode.
And Sunraku 100% is a Birdman, and a parrot one, because he cannot stay a fkng second silent!!!
I would prefer watching the battles without that much talking

With one episode left there's not much they can do in either one. Maybe meeting the competitors and that's it?
Exciting material for S3 in any case

Sunraku used an effective method and defeated Atlanticus. He made a great teamwork with the shark guy.

This arc is so interesting, I love it.

Talking is just something Sunraku does. Every time i watch this anime i have to turn the volume down cuz someone's screaming, either him or Emul. But that's just their characterization and i've grown used to it. Kinda surprised we get to see them beating the shark this season, i thought i'd have to wait til next season for the undersea return. Wish every ep is this eventful hahaha.

Hmm, this thing is described as an Orca, but looks part shark, part electric storm. At any rate, it's a tough monster.

A solid episode! It wasn’t just a battle between Sunraku and the Monarch of the Depths—it was also a fight between Sunraku and the game's algorithm, designed to prevent inventory abuse by the devs. Good thing he channeled all his hatred for Faeria into this fight.

Only one episode left, and it feels odd to fit an entire e-sports event into just one. Maybe the matches will be short?

Good strategy for a boss monster but I'm a bit disappointed Sunraku defeated another threatening monster "alone" since he was with Araba. And the Inventoria spam is getting boring now.

@AcD4c

Imagine if at some point, the "devs" of the game just shadow-patches it so that Inventoria can't be used during combat. Then one time, Sunraku will try to use it, only to get blasted by an error message screen, before cursing the devs upon his death.

I definitely agree tho. Inventoria is a cool exploit, but it needs to go. I need to see some badass dodges.

That exposition-talk-chase part where Fishboss magically couldn't catch up to Sharkman despite showcasing incredible speed before that chase and after that chase really was immersion-breaking. I don't know if it was an issue of storyboarding in the open ocean with no obstacles or structures for the moving characters to pass by and show relative motion, or if the budget for this particular episode was just slashed a bit. The overly-drawn out non-action moments that border on padding and close-ups of the characters reminiscent of One Piece techniques in other parts of the episode makes me lean towards the latter.

It is crazy to think how much has actually happened this season and how far we have come in two seasons time. That and how much space all the plot points have had to breathe has really pushed this series over the edge for me. It goes to show what a 25 episode season that is well paced and mostly well written can do.

This episode was nothing amazing and clearly built to just get the story moving along but still enjoyable enough.

Totally fine with neither arc concluding this season but we will see what next weeks episodes sets up for us in season 3.

I'm a bit surprised that more time was spent in SLF than the gaming tournament so now both of those arcs may end up incomplete before the season is over. Having said that maybe Sunraku will use reflection or something within the environment of the battle area in the gaming tournament to his advantage.

Honestly this. I fkin love this show but this irls me on a level beyond comprehension. Unless they somehow make the tourney battle end in the last episode but based on the pacing of this show, we may be in store for a cliffhanger till next season

Fight was good, shows how Sunraku is insanely intelligent, I think the next EPs will be the 4 towers or the championship and will leave the fight against Qtarnidd for a next season, or a movie, it makes me very sad

Sunraku using all his hatred towards Faeria as fuel to defeat Double-element Kyogre sure was something worth witnessing.

And that ending tho. Sunraku is gonna attend GGC while being sleep deprived. Kei is gonna be so mad lol.
Wonder if Silvia is gonna be sleep deprived too...

Last episode next. Well pretty much expected, they almost adapted almost all the available content from the source material when this season was made. The source material is actually just about to truly dive into dealing with Ctarnidd as of the current volume. I have to say, we might need to wait a lot longer for another season to be greenlit.

LOL @ Sun shit-talking to the DEVs (if they're listening, lol)

"PATCH THAT UP AFTER"

lol, pretty much saying the Devs didn't do their job and he easily found an exploit to use.

.

Also... the moment Sun gets the "light charging toward him"... reminded me of the "MinorSpellingMistake" LOL

And I just noticed something quite interesting... where in previous episodes they talked about how Pencil uses "tricks" to kill players.

Sun does almost the same things, using "tricks" to fight monsters.

.

And yea... that Elf PTSD is what fuels Sun's rage, LOL

Sun gets stronger the deeper PTSD he goes into.

Also... Sun's crystal from his weapon... could defend against the fire all along. Could probably have also blocked the Orca's range attacks too, but Sun never tried it til the very end.

.

And... WELP... Sun went the whole night playing SLF and forgot to sleep...

How's he going to play in the Tourny now? LOL

RIP

Araba being surprised that Sunraku would try to fight against the deep sea king, which is instant grounds for death, and the Atlanticus Lepnorca is not one entity worth fighting, if it means to use the Sealing Towers regarded by Ctarnidd, which he has figured out to use its powers against itself.

Even with Araba transporting Sunraku, Atlanticus's real threat is with the birdman himself, and engaging it with his big brain should work each and everytime, even against the patched AI. Araba can only do as much as to distract the gigantic orca wile Sunraku readies the Sealing Tower for an intentional direct attack using its electric discharge. It's one heck of a gamble to even just get the timing correct, and even then, the battle isn't quite over yet to inflict melee attacks, though interpreting it in the way of Faeria insulting him sure brings the rage to finally end the orca in a self-destructive phase.

Great, even splendid teamwork for both Sunraku and Araba...except that Rakuro forgot to sleep at all...

Great plan and well executed in the end, but it was indeed a tough battle for both Sunraku and Araba. Araba is a nice dude. I like him. Sunraku just realized that he forgot to sleep. LOL
